For the first time, this information appeared on informational websites<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/nerdist.com\/my-hero-academia-live-action-film-legendary-toho-nerdist-exclusive\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nerdist<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/heat-vision\/my-hero-academia-movie-live-action-project-works-1154874\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Hollywood Reporter<\/a><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From the side of Legendary Entertainment, the film will be produced by <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alex Garcia (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kong: Skull Island<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Godzilla<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (2014), <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Krampus<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) and Jay Ashenfelter (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pacific Rim Uprising, Winners <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TV-series), and from Shueisha, manga\u2019s owner &amp; publisher, side \u2013 by <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ryosuke Yoritomi. The Toho company will be managing the project\u2019s distribution in Japan. Over a couple of years, Hollywood had tried to remake the most popular Japanese mangas and anime-adaptations into real blockbusters, however, these attempts crucially failed. For instance, the most recent film adaptation of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ghost in the Shell<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with Scarlett Johansson turned out to be a complete disaster. This film got a lot of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rottentomatoes.com\/m\/ghost_in_the_shell_2017\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">negative reviews<\/a> and ended up costing the producers around <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2017\/04\/ghost-in-the-shell-scarlett-johansson-box-office-flop-whitewash-1202061479\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$60 million<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Legendary Entertainment takes a huge risk by deciding to produce a feature film adaptation of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">My Hero Academia<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Unfortunately, Izuku Midoriya, the main character, was born without any quirk, but he has a big dream of becoming a professional superhero.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kohei Horikoshi created the original manga <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">My Hero Academia<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in 2014. It was published by <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sueisha<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. Now the series has 17 million copies worldwide, and it became the fourth popular manga in 2017. The anime-adaptation appeared on big screens for the first time in 2016, the third season of which was finished in September 2018.
