“We consider it appropriate to develop two” road maps “: one to improve the legal regulation and the second on the integration of the created system with other information and navigation systems”, – said Alexander Gurko, President of NP GLONASS.

As the “Izvestia”, today only talk about the very idea of order and its implementation, rather than on the financial side of the project.

Autoexpert Igor Morzharetto argues that the bill will implement soon, and it has nothing to do with used cars, but only for new.

Already, in the majority of truck and bus terminals installed “Glonass”, and many trucks also equipped with “Plato”. The main advantage of “black boxes” that all the necessary information about transport will be supplied and stored in the same device, and the drivers do not have to put a number of different devices.

Half of the population of the Indian town Murshidabad is illiterate: education here is expensive. Many children don’t go to school because their parents can’t afford their tuition. Instead, they are bound cognize difficulties of adult life from a young age.

But Babar Ali is a lucky person who had the opportunity to attend a free public school. Despite the small income, his parents were able to provide their son with everything necessary: school uniform and textbooks. The school was in another city, so Babar had to spend a lot of time and effort for the way to it. But he did not regret it, because the lessons at school were worth that effort.

Every day when Babar was returning home he saw his peers forced to work in the field all day long. And then one day he decided to amuse them, he suggested playing the game where everyone had a role: Babar was the teacher and the rest of the children were curious students. Everyone loved this game so much that it became a reality. So there appeared a school, which was founded by a brave nine-year-old boy. Every evening, after hard and exhausting work the children gathered together to listen to Babar. It was his first step on the way to teaching.

The news about Babar’s noble action appeared in mass media a year after. Other kids found out about the school and soon among his pupils there were 800 children. According to Babar, his main aim is to give children the opportunity to gain knowledge that they were deprived of because of a difficult financial situation in their families. By the age of 23 he has taught grammar to 3 thousand kids in Murshidabad. He has set two records becoming the youngest teacher and headmaster in the world.

Now Babar Ali receives money for textbooks and food for students from sponsors, remaining not indifferent to their plight. Other students are teaching at school with him. They are working with children from Murshidabad for free after school or college. There is no place for strict discipline and tight control in the “Home of joyful learning”. The relationship between teachers and students is based on friendship and mutual respect.

“I want to teach until the last day of my life. I want every child to have a chance to become educated,” said Babar Ali.

Myth one: the Russian language is being simplified

– Yes, it is getting more democratic in the sense that it has become normal to use colloquial language even on television. But the vocabulary has not been simplified or more limited. Conversely, we have got more terms and borrowings. Such words as background, feedback and deadline now are clear to every student; they are widely used and have become a part of our lives.

Julia Kuvshinskaya, philologist, associate Professor, HSE
Julia Kuvshinskaya, philologist, associate Professor, HSE

In general, any language cannot live without borrowings. In Russian there are a lot of Turkish and Tatar borrowings from the Tatar language, they have become completely habitual. Many people believe that sarafan (pinafore dress), baraban (drum) and kaftan (a kind of tunic) are native Russian words. If a word has entered the Russian language, it is bound to be Russified, which involves an aesthetic factor. For example, coffee is masculine and associated with the drink which aristocrats “ate” in the 19thcentury. This moment is aesthetic, social, indicating a certain status but in no way linguistic. We do say moskovskoye metro (in the neutral gender), not moskovski metro (in the masculine gender), though the word metropolitan (undergroung), of which metro is an abbreviation, is masculine. It is essential to follow natural laws of the language.

Myth two: the Internet distorts the Russian language

– There used to be such a negative influence, but now there is a downtrend. It has become clear that to be understood it is necessary to speak good Russian, although elliptical sentences and abbreviations are still used to save time. Sometimes one can come across phonetic spelling. For example, wut instead of what, but there are not many such words. Now a lot of young people have mastered the art of “linguistic transformation”. At work, for example, they use elegant Russian, professional, which is formal and rich enough. And in the informal communication they speak like a totally different person, talking in youth slang, which is widely perceived as aggressive and almost flash language.

Myth three: obscenities and non-literary language are the same

In the fight for the “language purity ” some would go to extremes. Some “grammar-nationalists” even proclaimed themselves overseers who drive away all the “impure” from their “pure language”, which is an absolutely fascist stance. Linguists never do this, as they are interested in new phenomena and they are aware that language is very complex and diverse. In some cases, of course, it is necessary to make corrections. For example, obscenities are offensive others, and I would stop the person who uses it. But sometimes a grandmother would speak in a touching vernacular language. Why should it be corrected, because it is such a wonderful old-style speech. It sounds incorrect and non-literary but in everyday life this vernacular is appropriate not offensive. The choice of linguistic means should depend on the situation.

Vera Zhitnicka, theater and film actress, now starring in the Chinese TV series the love story of a Soviet speaker and a Chinese girl. The action takes place in the 1960-ies. Faith talks about how differently we approach the filming in Russia and China, but also about his love for Chinese tradition.

Vera Zhitnitskaya
Vera Zhitnitskaya

— You are used to the main role, but in this series play the role of the sister of the main character. It does not hurt to play a minor character?

— No, absolutely! Of course, better get used to it, but now I am happy and I like what I’m doing here. It is a priceless experience in a completely different cinematic reality, which I was very fascinated. Besides, this is a story about a Chinese girl, so I would not have approached for the lead role.

— How did you get into the project?

The role I got in a strange way. One actress posted on my social network that soon will be samples in the new project for Chinese television. At the audition I was extremely nervous: the Director, cameraman and producer of the series flew to Russia from China to personally select the actors. They had only one day, and contenders insane amount, it was necessary to show their best side, to stand out among all. The three of us got it and we were offered the role, but, frankly, it was very hard.

— Well if you took Chinese colleagues?

— The Chinese are very hospitable and interesting people. We have much to learn from them, for example, they are much more patient and calmer. With them pleasant and easy on the court, because in addition to the Russian partners we have to work with the Chinese, we play in their language, and they on his. It can be difficult, but the team and the other actors are always ready to help, suggest something. In between shooting, we have fun and joke: teach each other our languages, because the Chinese pronunciation of Russian sounds and Vice versa sounds very funny.

— What are the main differences in the production of TV series we have in China?

— The Chinese are very organized and hardworking. They have all done accurately, quickly, at a pre-agreed schedule. They try to shoot one take, so before filming always explain our problem to the max, not to reshoot several times. Of course, sometimes there are some “lost in translation”, but it does not hinders the process.

Very strange that a shooting area ready to shoot just five minutes, so seriously they approach the process. In Russia everything is totally not so, the shooting can reschedule, cancel, change at the last moment, the scene suddenly to rewrite the script for us it’s normal, so at first the Chinese seemed strange accuracy. Now I got used to it and understand how it really facilitates the process. This we clearly should learn from Chinese colleagues.

Yet they have definitely lunch at exactly twelve o’clock, even if not dosnyal scene, everyone needs a break. Also working in parallel, three groups in different places, so the movie they remove just like a rocket.

There is another difference: if we used what we call the shooting schedule almost for several months in advance, so that they can be combined with other surveys, the Chinese would “buy back” actors for the entire period of filming. Therefore, the Chinese actors can’t act more than one project. I personally in this respect, closer to our system — I do not like to sit idle, if you can plan your time.

— Do you like in China?

— Honestly, I was waiting for from China something horrific and completely incomprehensible. Thought I would be in a country where no say in Russian, but English with difficulty. Actually it is not so scary, and to find a common language with the local happened almost immediately. A huge impression on me nature is very diverse, so every city somehow remains in memory. This is my second time in China, the air up here, I already think my family, I even missed him. I think I’ll be back there again and again after the shooting.

— What was the biggest cultural shock you have experienced in China during this time?

— When we arrived it was still quite hot and we tried not to miss the opportunity to visit the beaches. Now, we immediately noticed that swim mostly men, very few women. If they appear, are dressed in diving suits, and almost in the mask on the face, so they cherish white skin. They have very different standards of beauty, and I was very surprised. But in General they are the same people, just with their culture, customs and, of course, excellent cuisine!

— And you would be able to continue his acting career in China?

To move forever? Not exactly plan. I like the local culture, but China is not my home. Still, I love Russia and I prefer to work here, despite all the advantages the Chinese market.

– What are the major changes you think have occurred in Russian journalism over the past few years?

– All dull. Absolute regression, minimize alternative means in the media. Severe impact – acceleration of the “Lenta.ru”, which was a leading news resource. Cause shareholders to the presidential administration, somehow they are there to bend over, after which they are forced to do such things. On the “Ekho Moskvy” was forward, “TV Rain” is a poor thing, “Novaya Gazeta” in an amazing way… While there is a trend. In a situation when the obvious course is to murder the opposition when it came to extremes, there can’t be another trend. All that will occur against the will of the presidential administration, will be rigidly suppressed.

There are a number of reporters, who continue bravely to do their job, like Lena Kostyuchenko, but in general, and new names arise. Where them to take? Sites not. In connection with the strangulation of independent media lost the competition, the normal situation of market development of journalism, as it were, for example, in the 90s, in the early noughties. Now the meadow is cleared.

What is happening in the public segment, are generally not journalism. Propaganda and journalism are diametrically different things. I feel sorry for the girls and boys that get into it at a young age, because that’s where they break through the knee, and it’s already crippled people.

There are some areas of escapism, where you can escape there and do something that does not concern directly the interests of the state, for example, science or travel. But you have no right to an independent point of view. To me, this story was. I went to the channel “My planet”. There I said the old man, behind the scenes you may have something to do, and show your face we can’t, you have this image in social networks. As said the main Director of the channel: “got game”. I have come to do not about the bloody regime, but about the journey. But it was all over, I “got game”.

Is there any sense to go to study journalism?

– I don’t know how should be a strong inner pull, a sense of mission within the person. It must be very clearly aware that you’re going into a profession that doesn’t exist, and, therefore, to understand that in the next few years interesting work you might not be. May no not be. I’m primarily talking about television journalism, because the biggest impact was on television, where there is no longer anything alive. There is an unfortunate “TV Rain”, but how much he can take people and how many can pay? For a young person, especially if he is not from Moscow, it is a very difficult option. In regions the situation is no better. In general, something comforting to say to me difficult for young people.

– It turns out that it was not necessary to enroll in journalism?

– No, actually, there is a hope called “the Internet” is a great thing that allows you to create startups from scratch. On the Internet you can try, there still is a zone of freedom. Unfortunately, there is no such a kid, who did something besides “Look At Me”, I guess. This hipster-posed a story that has grown into something bigger – to build a serious player on the market. I really miss some of the youth of madness, in a good way. I’m always trying to find some interesting projects. There is “Baten’ka”, “VOS”… This is not enough. To create a web page and learn HTML even I can. It is quite easy kapitaliserede, if you do not immediately begin to expose the bloody regime, of course. The availability of technologies and the opportunities offered by the Internet is cool. Just you young people have not yet realized that it’s fun – not just to post photos to Instagram and write on Facebook, and to unite and create a common creative energy. I told you, not enough strong to some story that I, a forty year old man, was blown away.

– Media platforms that combine a bunch of content formats: text, pictures, video, audio, links, different – good prospects for the future of journalism?

– These are The New York Times and The New Yorker is doing well. But I saw something that could impress me as a new multimedia piece that embodies the different sides, I can’t say. Of course, this phenomenon is worth exploring and may need to do. Not sure about the viability of this genre, but now it is interesting to deal. We might nagrama, and everything will come to a black and white text with images. It has a cyclical form of development. For example, at some point, everything went crazy and started making the “docudrama” with historical reenactments is almost an art movie. Now all of a sudden realized that it was expensive and pointless, and went back to the documentary films based on the classic narration and serious work with archives.

– By the way, about documentary film. Why you started doing it a documentary?

– I’m still not sure that they documentary. No, a couple documentaries, but I still consider myself a reporter. For example, “Journey from St. Petersburg to Moscow” – reportage series, but not a documentary. But not a single report – somewhere in the between. Reportage is when you are driving and don’t really understand what will happen next. We in “the Journey” was produced 30 percent of the material. And in the documentary film opposite proportion – 70 percent should already be clear and spelled out a scenario. How carefully we mounted and worked with audiovisual pieces, this film is much more than reportage. We shot on a film camera with the big boys. The report usually shoot with operators who are already tired of everything.

Documentary is very interesting to me, but I don’t quite know how to work with structured reality as it should do the documentary. He first considers the skeleton of the story, and then this skeleton strung reality. I have always had a different approach: I dive into this reality, and then it creates around itself all by herself. It is an unpredictable experience, it is always a trip that will lead nowhere. This is exactly what I would have to recommend the guys who want to make a life.

In one of your texts was the phrase “Moscow is us, and Russia – are they”. Do you think you know you in the regions?

– I Russia is no longer present. Used to be when we went to Prime on NTV, it was clear that are watching everything. I with this in mind, and made history, realizing that I’m telling people something new, what we know here in Moscow. I felt some kind of educational mission.
I have a feeling that there more or less conscious public audience. I think ten percent of the population who is more critical of the reality I know and see. Gets something same “Journey from St. Petersburg to Moscow”, beyond the ten percent, I don’t know. The film, of course, more powerful stuff, because it’s not a text column or clever that you should read. I think he broke. The problem, however, is that “TV Rain” cut from the network all of what they have not posted. It is clear that they are trying to make, but they are a little bit clipped in the film wings. And then ceased to remove. If you read the comments on Rutrecker or Youtube, you can see that these are people who are not readers of my Facebook, for example, for whom such a view of Russia was not something important. We have shown the usual Russia. 10 years ago such an idea in my head would not come, because there is nothing interesting, it also says about the degradation of the profession – just to go from Peter to Moscow and just to show how people live on the sidelines…

It all depends on the context. He is alive, especially in Russia, where every 10 years things change for 100 years, nothing has changed. When tell only about how to live in Eastern Ukraine and Crimea, you are going mad. Still the numbers show that the people are satisfied. Now we are going to look at this people, to talk to him. In this context, it’s interesting. The task of the journalist to feel sensitive to the context. This situation, a fair environment, because you’re responding companies. A journalist should always hit where it hurts. This is correct journalism.

– How do you think will change the essence of the profession of journalist in the future and will change it at all?

We see that this is not such a sacred community of know-it-all as before. The Internet and the availability of the camera phone changed the situation. Now everyone can go to shoot something unique, try to break through somewhere and it all publish. You own the media right now. Who is the blogger who is a journalist, did not understand. Is a “shifting” one to the other. Cool, I guess. Just journalist is no longer something exclusive. The request for smart, analytical, investigative journalism exists.

Valery Panyushkin in one of the texts in the “Snob”, speaking about his place in the profession and other journalists used the term “downed pilot”. How do you understand this term?

I don’t like that he and I have recorded in this list. I didn’t read the text, but I’ve got some words. “Downed pilot” is the one who broke. He was hit, the strength to fly anymore. Power I still have, I resist, I have ideas. To do something is always possible, the important thing is that there are people who want me to do something. If you’re doing something interesting, you will always find those who are willing to work with you for the idea.

– In general, are there some ways of development of Russian journalism? Or none?

– There are. Through those media that are created on the Internet. It is not necessary to look for a rich uncle who will give money. If you’re young, you learn, you can already start to create a media great joke this time, which we did not have. We could do some newspaper (laughs), but so with video, photos, texts and more that everyone can see not only your classmates, but in general all…

– It turns out that everything depends on us and we need to resist?

– Absolutely. Burn. Love life. To empathize with human grief.

The well-known people in the world of gloss, senior editor GQ.ru Oksana Smirnova from the first year of journalism writing about men’s fashion. We met up with her in GQ editors and talked about how it works in this publication on the impact of digital, the relationship of bloggers and journalists in gloss.

– Oksana, because you were invited to work in GQ thanks to the popularity of your blog?

– In fact, my path was much longer. I FurFur and worked in the fashion department, and “Rain”. But the beginning is put around our blog.

– And As a freshman journalism I had the idea to write about men’s fashion?

– We are with a friend (Jan Lukin, editor of Tatler, author GQ) it seemed that on the Internet in Russian about the man’s style is nothing. Although, as we later found out were, for example, quite popular men’s forums, where discussed leather shoes for unimaginable for us then money. Visitors, however, are not going to their topics in the forum, and our posts about why Russian men are bad and how to wear dress socks with Lofer. In general, we have issued the idea of the blog, and carried Vase Esmanovu (creator Look At Me), he lectures at the journalism then read. A few days later we wrote Julia Vydolob that just card fashion “Posters” passed in the fashion department of Look At Me, and said: Come to meet friends. June 2, 2010 at Look At Me was released first post LAD blog about the classification of summer shoes.

– What do you think, why your blog has grown into a site FurFur? Is there a secret to your success?

– We wrote about something that did not find themselves on the Internet, and Julia Vydolob us is allowed. When you’re just starting out, you in little doubt. You are asked to write about the top insiders or the theory of small deeds, you take and write. Once we have worked: produced by two posts a week, and they gathered a bunch of likes. We were not afraid to talk about himself, talked with the chief editors of glossy magazines, designers, we are not afraid to talk with famous people.

– And how did you get in GQ?

– It is thanks to this interview, which I took for Look At Me at Michael Idowu, he then headed by GQ. On the eve of stumbled into Facebook to post about what they look for sponsors fashion to the site. I asked if they needed a writer, wrote some test text, and a week later I was offered a job in the state in the position of a junior editor of the website. Now I tell everyone that you want to use every opportunity.

– Now you have become a senior editor of the site. What are your responsibilities are different from what makes the editor of the printed version of GQ?

– Site Editor runs constantly. If the magazine once a month “renting rooms”, the site “Deposit” every day. Plus, the site editor is not only books or wrote the actual text and publish it, but the “scatters” tweets, monitors responses and statistics to see whether he did the right thing, that this article has found its audience. In general, we always work in jobs involving all hands, and editors can afford a more tranquil life at the beginning of the month. (Laughs). We need every day to write something and post, and it’s not so simple.

– And do not you take material from the printed version of the site, the magazine was equally represented in print and in digital?

– Yes, but we do not put them in the same way they looked in a magazine. We can not afford the same headings as in the magazine, they just do not understand the Internet. We make clearer headings – see it and know what you will find, if kliknesh and find yourself on the page of this article. Sometimes we can break some stories into several small and releasing them on the site as separate items. For example, we had in the Journal guide the office dress code, the material for a few turns, with pictures, rules and tips. We released all of them one by one and joined tag “office dress code.”

Another trend – the repackaging material. For many years in the print media published a lot of large-scale stories. Find them now on the Internet – the problem. However infopovody happen when they read the old stories need. As an example: in the autumn of 2013 in the magazine was article about how to clean the shoes. We then immediately published it on the website, but a record number of visitors was observed. In the fall of 2014 in a nasty rainy day, we again take the post and publish it to social networking status in the spirit of “never wash water leather shoes” – and then collect audience.

– And how do you think the trend in multimedia media still have? Or rather, one the most demanded resource, for example, GQ website will supersede all other magazine platform?

– I’m not sure that the future is something one. Frankly, I would not be surprised if suddenly appears something even cooler than sites. If now the trends are dictated by our devices (introduced the iPad – came up with the version of the magazine for him, were more likely to consume content on mobile – did a version for mobile), that soon, I think, the device will change so fast that keep pace for them to adjust to be unbearably difficult. Then it will be a new content storage format to be packed, for example, a 20-digit code. Entering this code at any new device, the content itself adapts to it, and visually displayed to the reader the most convenient way. Really I am looking forward to this moment. I think it will come sooner than we think. All too quickly changing. A few years ago, even Instagram was not as popular as it is now known bloggers everywhere.

– When you were a blogger, it was more difficult to draw attention to themselves than the current generation in Instagram?

– I can not say that it was harder. If the idea is good, it will find its audience in Instagrame even though on the forums. Maybe bloggers are now even harder, because when we started, there were so many competitors were free niches. And now for that nowhere is already someone did. But it is still possible to find a stand-topic and draw attention to themselves, as it once did we.

Do you share the opinion that the bloggers take away the bread of the journalists? Warring whether gloss bloggers and journalists?

– Well, what are we enemies, if bloggers are now appearing on the covers of Vogue and Tatler? This opinion was common a few years ago, when it was thought that bloggers are more independent. Like, in the Journal of brand advertising have about them in the journal and write. And bloggers write about everything. Since then, things quickly changed: the bloggers flooded with products of different brands, send things in exchange for photos in the Instagram, so that their independence is questionable. It’s just a different format. News – it is short, and a blog tip is close to the format of the column. The main thing – is the author’s position. is the “Blogs” heading for its broadcast on our website. Therefore, we rather work on one thing, but from different angles. Editors notes to broadcast the official position of GQ, and columnists and bloggers – its position.

– That is, to get to the GQ website pages do not need to study in journalism, but rather the fastest write in his blog about fashion updates?

– Not so important, do you have a diploma or a journalist you taught himself to create in demand content. You either know how to write clearly or not. Let’s just say you can succeed without this diploma. Journalism gives you the opportunity to get a tremendous amount of knowledge and skills that will be useful to you later in the profession. Depends on you, you vospolzueshsya this opportunity or not.

Riot against fashion

Style grunge quite heterogeneous, there are many variations of it. The general idea of this stylistic direction – resistance fashion. Often a rebellion against fashion creates a new style. Grunge – a good example. The word “grunge” came from the American slang. It means something unpleasant and repulsive.

Aboriginal youth are considered rebels and numerous fans of rock bands, who often copy the behavior and lifestyle of their idols. Followers edakogo marginal chic came from Seattle, where I came from groups such as Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden,  and not by accident. These groups in their texts talked about the new reality and freedom in all spheres of life, and especially – for self-expression.

Rock band "Nirvana"
Rock band “Nirvana”

Grunge – a flannel plaid shirt, long, carelessly arranged hair, torn pantyhose or mesh, leather and metal ornaments, frayed jeans or shorts, plaid skirts, hats, beanies and heavy, solid shoes. Grunge style intersects with such styles as the “military” and often fans of grunge in the preparation of a camouflage image is used.

The origins of the style is the desire to resist the fashion, but this desire has resulted in yet another direction in clothing. It would not have tried followers marginal style challenge and break the fashion templates, they are trapped, because grunge – is quite different combinations of certain things. Style ceased to be truly marginalized in the early nineties when the American designer Marc Jacobs within the Fashion Week showed her collection, made in grunge style. Then grunge ceased to relate human to a particular social group. On this day, this style is often ill teenagers, lovers of rock music, the participants of some subcultures and even the stars.

On the Oct 28, 2016  the exhibition “Bulgakov. Two biographies” opened in the exhibition hall called New Manege. There are two anniversaries being celebrated this year: 125 years since the writer’s date of birth , and 50 years – since the very first publication of his most famous novel “The Master and Margarita.”

“Project” Bulgakov. Two biographies ” is a vivid example of coollaboration between the museums. Creating the architecture and design, a crew of “Manege” worked in permanent contact with the curators of the Bulgakov’s House – says Irina Tolpina, managing director Moscow Museum and Exhibition Association Manege. – A visit to the exhibition will be a dive into the world which connects the images of literary works with the reality in which he lived and worked as a writer. ”

The exhibition is divided into halves. In the first one, under the glass cases there are archive documents which tell Bulgakov’s biography, present his first fees and difficult way to the reader: in late 1920s his works were banned and named “anti-Soviet”. Bulgakov even counted that among the reviews on his works there had been 300  “hostile and abusive” ones and only three hab been laudatory.

The second half of the exhibition is devoted to the theater, which played an essential role in Bulgakov’s life. His plays “Days of the Turbin” “Crimson Island,” “Zoyka’s flat” and “Moliere” were put on the main stages of the country – in Chekhov’s Moscow Art Theater, and Bolshoi Theatre. Visitors will be able to be backstage and try to undertand the process of writer’s clash with the Soviet censorship and even contemplate Bulgakov as an actor: in 1935 he played the President of the Court in the movie “The Pickwick Club”, based on the novel written by Charles Dickens.

A part of the exhibition is a replica of Bulgakov’s apartment, reconstructed via his contemporaries’ memoirs, extant outlines and black and white photos. But it was impossible to reconstruct everything accurately. There is a layout drawn on the floor, and words “sofa”, “chair”, “piano” display the furniture which hasn’t been found. In this apartment did Bulgakov work on the novel “The Master and Margarita” till the end of his life. There he created the “Notes of the deceased” and the play “Batum” about Stalin’s youth, with whom the writer even had a phone conversation, having made it clear that Bulgakov’s works would never be printed.

The exhibition will be open until the Jan. 9, 2017, and everyone has a chance to delve into Bulgakov’s work and biography, to assess if the crew of the Exhibition Centre successfully coped with the task by collecting about 700 materials from libraries and private collections, museums and archives in one single exhibition. Apart from the exposure itself, the project organizers have prepared a special program. It will include lectures of specialists in literature and history of theatre, panel discussions, film screenings and tours.
